The Top Senior Squads From Germany in 2017

At the end of May, the German juniors have their main selections trial in Warendorf for the world championships. It is called “Prize of the best”. A few years ago it was only for seniors, then only for juniors and this year we will see both. The senior squads will compete against each other, but we can expect many changes ahead of us. Unfortunately, we also noticed that many of the top squads have been struggling with their horses, so the future is still very uncertain.

Köln-Dünnwald, Neuss-Grimmlinghausen and Fredenbeck will be part of both the Prize of the Best and of the CVI Ermelo, next weekend. On the other hand, Ingelsberg won’t be attending either one of them; They have a completely new team and, on top of everything, their horse, Lazio, is injured (Source: Voltigier Service). So, In Warendorf they will concentrate on their junior squad.

The CVI in Portogruaro didn’t go very well for Ingelsberg’s senior squad. One reason might have been that same horse problem: they were not competing with Lazio but went with Elegante 42 instead.

The senior team from Neuss might have had the same issue: They were first registered with their horse Delia for yesterday’s regional selection trial in Germany,  but on April 18, 2017 the organizers published a new starting order: The squad competed with Smarti instead of Delia. They have won the competition (first pictures),  in front of Köln-Dünnwald.

Also, after the successful CVIs Ermelo and Krumke in 2016, Fredenbeck is hoping to vault with their horse again. Wizaro was sick last summer and they had to find another horse for the German championships, but now they are hoping to be able to bring him back.
