„Creative in new ways“ – Vaulting convention of the Voltigierzirkel and its partners by Felix Bender
Top-class speakers, versatile, relevant topics and an atmosphere which promotes friendly exchange: these are the aspects which distinguish the annual vaulting conference in Alteiningen (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany). In „good tradition“, the conference is co-organized by the German national association (FN), and the national instructor conference is integrated.
For two full days – Friday afternoon until Sunday noon – the participants can take part in speeches, discussions and workshops with relevant and timeless vaulting, lungeing and equestrian topics. The details were compiled in collaboration with the speakers.
- By March 2017 the following speakers confirmed their attendance for 2018:
- Choreography expert Frauke Bischof
- Horse and lungeing specialist Kerstin Bock
- Mental coach Gunda Haberbusch
- Top individual vaulter Daniel Kaiser
- Pas-de-deux world and European champions Jasmin Lindner and Lukas Wacha as well as their lunger Klaus Haidacher
- International judge and founder of the Voltigierzirkel Ulrike Rieder
- Horse and popular sports expert Hildegard Rosemann
More will follow.
By autumn 2017 at the latest, the complete program will be online and registration will be possible, that’s the plan of Voltigierzirkel e. V. The Conference will take place from February 23 till 25, 2018 at the castle of Alteiningen. The castle is a youth hostel of high standard and can accommodate 160 participants for sleeping, seminars, workshops, etc.
Alteiningen is around 45 km from Mannheim, which is the closest main-line station and long distance bus station. If required, the Voltigierzirkel offers a shuttle from Mannheim to the castle. The closest airport is Frankfurt am Main.
The program is aimed at instructors of teams, pas de deux and individuals of all levels, judges and also officials. There will be offers for the basis and also for the professional sport and as usual there will also be proposals where the participants not only contribute mentally but also physically. This addresses the participants who are not only coaches but also active vaulters. For these workshops, the castle has large rooms and a gym can be used. For workshops with the horse, there is an indoor arena.
The vaulting conference was organized for the first time in 1995. At that time the vaulting world met in Bad Boll. Since 2014, Alteiningen is the venue. Since the first conference, controversial topics were approached, discussed and changes in the vaulting sport were helped to shape.
The first conference in 1995 already attracted 200 participants and speakers to come to Bad Boll. For some conferences, participants from Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and Russia undertook a long way. Not all participants come from that far, but we never had an only national conference so far. Especially participants from Austria and Switzerland are regular guests.
