Ireland now has a real vaulting organisation: Equestrian Vaulting Ireland (EVI)

Tuesday 8th November 2016 is a historical date for vaulting in Ireland. Indeed, the official launch of “Equestrian Vaulting Ireland” was held in the Horse Sport Ireland offices which are located in the town of Naas, Co.Kildare and obviously in Ireland.

14 people involved with the sport attended, including John Eccles, FEI chairman of the vaulting committee. After a short presentation of the sport and where it stands at the moment, time came for making decision. One of them was to put in place a management committee in which one representative from each up and running vaulting club, one mentor/guide in the name of John Eccles, one person in charge of communication and finally chairmen were designated.

The discipline now hopes this will set a serious framework for vaulting and that from now on the sport will keep developing itself in the right direction.

Key words out of this meeting were: Challenges, objectives, communication, promotion of vaulting and team spirit.
Keeping these in mind, Equestrian Vaulting Ireland should now move forward together and spread the word around the country about how wonderful our sport is!

Save the date: mid-December, Christmas Vaulting show and barrel competition at Ballyrogan Vaulting Club. Fingers crossed everyone so it happens!
