The Big VaultingNews Costume Party: The French Version

Colorful catsuits weren’t really common in the past. Here and there someone tried out something different but it wasn’t the rule. In France there are two vaulters that started out like everyone else, but in the middle of their career they became more creative in the choice of music, in their interpretation of the music and of course in their now unique outfits. Yes, I am talking about Nicolas Andreani & Jacques Ferrari, the masters of vaulting theater.

1: Nicolas Andreani as clown (2010)

2: Nicolas Andreani as Einstein (2015)

3: Jacques Ferrari as fighter (2013)

4: Jacques Ferrari (2010)

5: Jacques Ferrari as Swan (2015)

6: Another creative and very expressive French vaulter was Matthias Lang who might have fired the starting pistol for the change of outfits with his still very tight, black catsuit but using the music of the sometimes weired Tim Burton movies.

7: And as number seven we take a look into the the year after Nicolas and Jacques retired (more or less). Jacques, started a team called Noroc, that competes now internationally. In the beginning they were more a show team which lead to a vaulting presentation costumed as reindeers.

We started our Big VaultingNews costume party yesterday with the movie “Perfume: The story of a murderer”. If you have videos or pictures of costume parties not from Europe, we would be very happy to publish them in this week.
