Up until 2006 the lives of Professional Vaulting Stalkers was much harder than today. We only had one or two websites to help our research and most of the teams still didn’t have websites of their own.
After WEG in Caen everything changed. We now had new “high quality” DVDs, youtube, names. Everything we wished for.
Thats why the first team I ever got obssessed with was Wildegg, from Austria.
Up until 2006 teams didn’t really have themed presentations.
Eveyone kinda had the same clothings.
Some places still had teams made of 9 people.
Then came Wildegg.
They had a theme (Cirque du Soleil), they had colorful flyers, they had a lady standing over the head of a person (which by that time was new), they had that last block, which was consisted of the most amazing moves a team had ever performed, they had Stefan Csandl…
Unfortunatelly the performance only got them 3rd place, they had a slight fall on second day of competition. But history is gonna remember them forever.
I wil always remember:
Kathrin Humann – The White Flyer
Isabel Fiala – The Golden Flyer
Katharina Luschin – The Green Flyer
We also saw them grow up and become amazing vaulters which is so cool.
Maybe because of this history, I always get emotional about Wildegg. And I am looking foward to seeing what they are bringing us this year. I hope they get back on their feet and show us their best in 2015.
