Championships Around The Globe: Hungary

Thank you to Eszter Knoyves-Toth & Krisztina Bence for telling me something about the nationals of Hungary. They don’t have many competing vaulters & still less horses that could compete internationally. But there are nearly 80 individual vaulters & 6 teams at the nationals. At the championships are all categories. Eszter lunges a new team that competes in walk. The club had 9 participants at the nationals what was a lot, because they started with two vaulters two years ago. I am impressed what a difficult & creative freestyle they show & how good they work with the music. They were placed second.

How is it in your country, are there also triples allowed in walk?

Another really great performance showed Franciska Basa. I never saw such a difficult beginner freestyle in Germany. She was placed 4th. I think it is really clear that the coaching of Eszter, a former rhythmic gymnast, pays off.

The beginners do their compulsory on the horse & the freestyle on the barrel:

And of course, we shouldn’t forget the European Champion Balázs Bence:
